Environmentalism... Article

I came across this essay/speech last week, and felt I had to pass it on.
Environmentalism as Religion

Alright, you gotta read that one, but in general, I have had lots of these impressions previously, but never had the information to back it up.
The article is bound to change the way you look at many environmental issues.
Of particular note is the mention of second-hand smoking having no proven adverse effects on people.

Of course, the entire article is well written, and although I may not agree with all of it, it is surprising to me that the media (and even scientists) can continue to lead the people of America and the world on these witch hunts regarding almost all environmental issues.  Alright, in particular I don't identify with the statements making religious people seem to be blind followers.  Christianity is, I think, the most open to questioning the truths behind it.  As a Christian I feel it is very important to question the truths as the organized church puts them.  Another post is brewing here, so I will save that for another one.

I have always said that global warming is a made-up issue.  We are looking at temperature measurements that were made on equipment that was available hundreds of years ago.  I gotta believe that these instruments are questionable, and likely have an error margin of +/-2 degrees.  The total measured difference in global temperature is (depending on who you listen to) 0.5 - 3 degrees above the earliest measured levels.  Aside from that, there is little mentioned about the idea that regardless of human intervention there may be many factors that are causing a warming trend, including a trend that includes a steady increase since Creation, or most likely the flood.

Anyways, read the article just be forewarned it is the kind of article that seems to offend you at first read.
My advise is to take the good from it, and leave the anti-religious stuff out of your memory.

Enjoy.

people!? Apparently it doesn't take much to be a scientist. Everytime I go to the club's, I come home smelling like an ashtray, my throat hurts and my eyes burn. I think that qualifies as an adverse affect in itself.

I will challenge this scientist to perform this experiment on himself. I bet he would change his tune quickly.

Ps. Happy Birthday Mr.Einstein.

Alright, no adverse effects was my wording. Truly, though, they have yet to prove disease or death caused long-term, or short-term by second-hand smoking. The usual bias/perspective for this subject is the core of what the article is aiming to prevent.
