Shalom in the House

So, I can be a bit impulsive with my TV choices, but after seeing an episode of TLCs Shalom In the Home, I am prepared to recommend it to all (well at least the two of you reading this thing.)  And, let's be honest if you listen to my TV recommendations, you already have something wrong with you, and what's another hour of your life (43 minutes with TiVo).

Anyways, the show is kinda like SuperNanny except with a more religious tone.
The Rabbi is actually pretty interesting, but there is part of the show where he is on a 1980's looking CB talking into an earpiece of one or more of the family members.  This is where the quality part of the show goes down the tubes.  The Rabbi, at one point, told the father (thru the earpiece) to get a drink for the mother (they're divorced) while they were cleaning together.  He then talked to the mother and told her how romantic the father was, and she should reconcile with him.

Anyways, the show is more funny than serious for me, but as with all of these over-the-top reality shows, watching crazy people with big problems is comforting in a way.  I know that makes me somewhat defective, but at least I admit it, right?  Everyone knows that we watch shows like Super Nanny and the like because of this reason.

It is worth a watch just to check out the "Shalom Mobile Home" and list of other really cheesy word plays.

P.S.: You gotta check out the Life Lessons that TLC is advertising lately.  REALLY funny stuff!!!

This not really about our show, but last night, I sat down on the couch with my bowl of cereal and TV Remote. I turn TV on and American Idol is on. I scream and try to turn the channel. That is when the worse of all worse things happened. The batteries were dead. Being a true American, I was to lazy to get up so I sat there in pure torture.

That show you point out does look like that nanny show. I saw one episode of the nanny show. That nanny should win the Nobel Peace Medal.

I admire your ability to be a parent. It would take serious medication (possible shock treatment too) for me to tolerate that level of stress. I just don't know how you do it.
