San Diego: Day 3
DAY 3
Eva woke up around 6:00am this morning, so we are closer to CA time.
We had decided to go to Sea World today.
We again got the great breakfast at the Hotel, and took a banana for the road, which always comes in handy when you eat at amusement parks that have only junk food!
After breakfast we headed straight to Sea World.
We jumped on the sky ride first to get the lay of the land. Eva loved it, and showed no fear when she leaned on the glass, and looked around.
The first show we saw was the dolphin show. Eva seemed to enjoy it quite a bit. We had to stay out of the soak zone, so we were a little ways away from the action, but still pretty close.
After the dolphin show we went directly to the Shamu show, and after realizing Eva was past due for her nap, we decided to bail on the show for now.
Sea World has awesome family restrooms everywhere that put Disney World to shame.
So we changed her diaper, and started walking around hoping to find a place where she could fall asleep in the stroller while we wandered.
I really wanted to see the penguins since they are my favorite animal.
I was completely bummed to find out that the penguin exhibit was under construction, and I could only see a few of the warmer weather ones outside.
While we were wandering around that exhibit Eva fell asleep.
We found a quiet garden area where nobody was. I could almost fall asleep in there... The birds were chirping and there was light music playing. She slept for the better part of an hour there!
After the nap we got some lunch ($30 again).
Next we went through the aquariums, and some other smaller exhibits, and caught the Sea Lion show. Eva was not as thrilled with this one, and spent most of the time watching the people sitting around us. The little girl next to me had an ice cream cone, and I spent most of the show keeping Eva from grabbing it from her.
After that, we headed back to the garden area and shot some pictures of Me and EG and Nina and EG by the cactus gardens.
Well, it was time for another nap for EG so we headed right back to the garden.
She fell asleep again and stayed that way for good hour plus some, this time!
We spent the rest of the afternoon walking around and seeing the Flamingos, and sea otters, and other fishies. We also took a ride on a gondola over the bay. Eva loves these high flying rides.
As Eva was winding down again for her next nap we decided we saw all we needed to see, and headed out of the park with Eva asleep in the Snugli on the way out.
She slept for the ride home, and even for a little while back at the hotel.
We just hung out at the hotel for a while trying to decide where to do dinner, and letting Eva just play for a while without being strapped in to her stroller or Snugli.
We decided to head to Tony Roma's for dinner, so after her nap we headed out again.
We somehow got extremely lost and, by the time we found it, it was closed (9:00pm)!
So we ended up just turning around and getting Wendy's drive thru.
We ate dinner, and put Eva to sleep, and went to sleep ourselves... Long day.
